Edmund Rice Education Australia - Flexible Learning Centre Network

The Edmund Rice Education Australia - Flexible Learning Centre Network is the Registered Training Organisation for the qualification TAA401O4 CERTIFICATE IV IN TRAINING AND ASSESSMENT.

The certificate course has been designed to meet the needs of teachers who train and assess in the vocational education and training areas. The course is delivered over three days. Participants who work in or with a secondary school or college are welcome, although the focus is on a school setting. The program requires participants to complete a number of tasks including:

  • Accessing training package qualification rules
  • Determining and interpreting units of competency
  • Developing a Training and Assessment Plan which identifies core and electives, proposed target group, duration of course and delivery mode, course structure, evidence gathering techniques, staff and facilities to deliver and validation processes
  • Exploring strategies when reviewing, recording and reporting.
  • Participants are also required to provide a "portfolio of evidence and RPL application to be completed and presented at the workshop" which includes educational qualifications and school policies related to VET and current teaching practices.

    How to enrol?

    Workshops are offered according to viability of numbers and the availability of physical and human resources. The EREAFLCN has a commitment to educating in a Catholic ethos. Courses will be marketed to independent schools, state schools and Catholic schools, and no teacher will be excluded from participating if human and physical resources are available.
